ABOUT TELANGANA STATE COOPERATIVE APEX BANK

• The Hyderabad Co-operative Apex Bank Limited, Hyderabad and The Andhra State Co-operative Bank Limited were merged in the year 1963 and formed into The Andhra Pradesh State Co-operative Bank Limited (APCOB), with Head Office at Hyderabad.


• The decision taken by the government for implementation of Single Window Credit Delivery System for delivering both investment and production credit for agriculture through single agency, the Andhra Pradesh Co-operative Central Agricultural Development Bank Limited (APCCADB), which was catering to the needs of Long Term Investment Credit in the then State of Andhra Pradesh, was merged with the APCOB, during the year 1994 for providing both Short Term and Long Term through the APCOB / DCCBs / PACS.


• The reorganization of the State of Andhra Pradesh and formation of a new State of Telangana in 2014, APCOB is reorganized/reconstituted into two State Co-operative Banks, viz., Telangana State Co-operative Apex Bank Limited (Apex Bank) and the residual APCOB, catering to the needs of Telangana and the residual Andhra Pradesh respectively. Both the SCBs started working independently from 2 April 2015.


• At present, the bank has 42 branches under Apex Bank, 36 onsite ATMs, 5 ATMs at Metro Stations, 1 Mobile ATM, 9 DCCBs, 363 branches under DCCBs and 818 PACs. Telangana State Cooperative Apex Bank has been bestowed with 'Best State Cooperative Bank' award in the country by NABARD, Mumbai on the occasion of 40th Foundation Day. The selection process involves collection of exhaustive information, verification and scrutiny of the same by NABARD submitted in prescribed format by all the 33 State Cooperative Banks. The award was reintroduced by NABARD after a gap of about 20 long years.


• At the same time, Karimnagar District Cooperative Central Bank has also achieved the "Best DCCB in South Zone" award by their splendid performance surpassing 353 DCCBs in India.
