Rental Aggreement Means :
A Rental Agreement is an agreement between the land or building owner and tenant. Here, the tenant occupies the owner’s land or building and pays rent to him every month. To formalize the home renting process, a tenant and a landlord must undergo certain terms and conditions in writing and get the document registered to make it legally valid. This document is known as the rental agreement or rent agreement. In case of any future disputes between them, neither the tenant nor the landlord can approach any legal authority to claim relief.
Under the Model Tenancy Act 2019, the states appointed rent authorities in cities, where landlords and tenants would have to go to the rent agreement registered. In the rental agreement, some important basic rules are to be followed. It must contain the specifics of the tenancy which include names of the landlord and the tenant, addresses of both parties, the monthly rent, the duration of the tenancy, the responsibilities in the maintenance of the property, the penalties on default, etc.
