  • Gurgaon Gramin Bank (GGB) was a Regional Rural Bank in March 1976 under RRBs Act, 1976. Its headquarters is located at Gurgaon, Haryana and it is supported by Syndicate Bank. On 9 December 2013, the Gurgaon Gramin Bank and Haryana Gram Bank was sponsored by Punjab National Bank were merged and renamed as the Sarva Haryana Gramin Bank. Its head-office is located at Rohtak and had total business of Rs.17,537 crore. At present, this bank is spread across 22 districts of Haryana. It has more than 11 regional offices and 650 branches. Now, it has become the largest and top bank among all regional rural banks in the nation.

  • The primary objective of Sarva Haryana Gramin Bank is to provide secured saving schemes to the entire rural areas and also to assist people in their financial needs and make them financially independent.

  • As per source, first the finance ministry planned to bring Haryana Gramin Bank (HGB) under GGB but after the recommendation of the state government, the amalgamation was done in favor of HGB. The bank has bagged first position in the state in formation of Farmer’s Club and it supported BPL families in the state for rendering financial assistance under Housing Board Scheme.
