RBI has allotted the Indian Financial System Code in short denoted as IFSC code to all the bank branches in India to easily identify online fund transactions. IFSC codes are unique 11-digit codes with alphanumeric characters. These codes help the users to ensure that the transferred funds go to the right person account.
For example, we can take the IFSC code: "SBLS0000001" - of Samarth Sahakari Bank Limited branch in Solapur, Maharashtra.
This IFSC code can be used for online money transactions via NEFT, RTGS and IMPS to any Samarth Sahakari Bank Limited account or to other bank accounts.
According to RBI guidelines, the IFSC code is mandatory for interbank transfers via, NEFT and RTGS to any bank in India. Under this scheme, only students of more than 10 up to 18 years of age can open the account. The bank gives 4% interest per annum as per the rules fixed by RBI. Samarth Savings Account can be opened with minimum Rs.0. Cheque book facility to be provided with 60 leaves per year. ATM card facility is also available with Rs.150/- Additional charge. Customer can withdraw maximum Rs.20,000/-amount per day from any bank branch with withdrawal slip or cheque. Nomination facility is also available. Documents required as per KYC rules.
Under this scheme customer can be able to get maximum 30 days interest rate as per rate of interest chart. Some of the important features of this scheme are the customer can make transactions in value of Rs.1,000/- thousands only. The customer can withdraw amount from this account only using withdrawal slip. The Interest will be calculated on 30 days balance amount as per LIFO method. There is no ATM & Cheque Book Facility for this scheme.
