• In the middle of the year 1908 at Akola District in Maharashtra, 12 prominent social worker, the lenders of loans to the 13 Co-operative societies that existed at that time. The Central Bank, Akola, resolved to remove it. So, the lenders joined together to start a co-operative bank. During that time, Mr.M.M. Hemingway was the Registrar of Co-operative Societies.


• He issued certificate on 5 February 1909 for registering bank. After registering it, the members named the bank as The Akola District Central Cooperative Bank, Akola.
