  • The Nainital Bank Limited was established at Nainital, Uttarakhand in 1922 by Bharat Ratna Pt. GovindBallabh Pant and few other prominent personalities of Nainital with the objective to cater banking needs of the people of the region. In the year 1973, Reserve Bank of India directed Bank of Baroda, a premier nationalized bank, to manage the affairs of the Nainital Bank Limited. It is a scheduled commercial bank having its headquarters at Nainital and fully owned subsidiary of Bank of Baroda which holds 98.57% shareholding and remaining 1.43% shares are held by the public.

  • At present, the bank is having 163 branches operating in five states i.e. Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana and Rajasthan with more than 1,000 employees. All the branches of the bank are operating in CBS platform. It is also providing RTGS, NEFT, SMS Alerts, RuPay ATM cum Debit Card, NainiNet Internet Banking and Mobile Banking facilities to its customers.
