Chhindwara was foundedby Ratan Raghuwanshi. It is believed that once there was number of Chhind(type of tree). In terms of area Chhindwara is the largest district in MadhyaPradesh. District is surrounded by the large green fields, number of riversand dense forests.The Districtcovers the area of 11,815 Sq Km. Further the city is dividedinto 13 Taluk whichare Chhindwara, Chhindwara town, Parasia, Chourai, Junnardeo, Sausar,Pandhurna, Amarwara,Harrai, Tamia, Mohkhed, Bichhua, Umreth and Chand.
