The South Goa District is one of the two District Registrars in the State of Goa, India. The maximum guideline value in South Goa District Registration Office is Rs.10,906.80 per square feet which was quoted by the Government officials (mainly from Public Work Department) for the properties located in Salcete Taluka, the area name is Margao-III (Ward Nos.1,2,3,16). The minimum guideline value is Rs.30 per square feet fixed for the properties located in Dharbandora Taluka, the area name is Caranzol. The documents are registered with National Generic Document Registration System (NGDRS), Department of Land Resources (Government of India), Department of Registration, Government of Goa.
The entire South Goa district is divided into five sub-division namely Ponda, Mormugao, Vasco, Margao, Quepem and Dharbandora. There are seven talukas in this district namely Ponda, Mormugao, Salcete (Margoa), Quepem, Canacona (Chaudi), Sanguem and Dharbandora.
Even though there are many areas in this district, the officials quoted guideline values for 174 areas which are considered as very important in the localities. Based on this fair value, the SRO’s register the lands and adjoining properties. As per to source between 2013 and 2020, the guideline value of Salcete Taluka, the area name in Margao-III (Ward Nos.1,2,3,16) is increased from Rs.9,089 to 10,906.80 per square feet. So, the rate per square feet was increased up to Rs.1,817.80 as the development work was taken. At the same time in Sanguem Taluka, the area Dudal rate has been reduced from Rs.150 to Rs.80. In Canacona Taluka, the area Agonda is reduced from Rs.600 to Rs.200 which is considered as the highest reduction in this district. The officials also increased the guideline value of some other streets and its surrounding areas.
