Duplicate PAN Card

Usually, Indians felt in need of applying duplicate PAN card in case of lost PAN card. In cases, the card gets stolen, damaged, or misplaced credit card, apply for a duplicate PAN Card. But the application only gets approved once you do an FIR of the lost PAN card. One must keep in mind; you only have to file a request of reissue of existing PAN Card.

Documents required to apply for the duplicate PAN Card

  • All self-attested identity proof like Voter ID, Driving license, and Aadhaar Card
  • All self-attested address proof like bank account statements, Aadhaar Card, Utility bill, etc.
  • Self-attested document mentioning the date of your birth such as Passport, matriculation certificate, certificate of birth, etc.
  • PAN allotment letter or a self-attested copy of PAN Card

Procedure to apply for online PAN Card

  • If your PAN Card is lost, one can download a soft copy as of e-PAN card using NSDL or UTIITSL using the acknowledgment number or date of birth. There are many ways of getting the PAN Card details.
  • Log on to the website of NSDL and download the e-PAN of the acknowledgment number.
  • Enter the acknowledgment number or date of birth
  • You will receive OTP on your registered mobile number and validate the same.
  • Download PDF’ for downloading the e-PAN instantly.

Steps of downloading the e-PAN Card with PAN and Date of birth

  • Visit the download e-pan NSDL portal.
  • Share the required details like date of birth, PAN, and Captcha code.
  • Click on 'submit' and download the e-PAN for free.
  • On applying, you will receive a token number
  • It will redirect you to fill PAN application.

Steps to fill in PAN application

Personal Detail

Start fill in the application form by providing the ‘ Personal Details’. There are mainly three modes of form submission

  • Submit digitally with e-sign and e-KYC.
  • Submit scanned images through e-Sign
  • Forward documents physically

Another detail to mention is whether you need a physical PAN Card or not. There is a specific box available in the form where you will need to enter Aadhaar number

  • EID number
  • Name as per Aadhaar card.
  • Father's and mother's name

Once done, click on 'next'.

Contact details

Under this category, you are required to provide the 'address for communication'. It can be your office or residence.

  • Fill in your address details.
  • Once done, you are required to put contact details and e-mail address.
  • Recheck everything and once done, click on 'next'.

Document details

  • It is the last section of the application. All that is required is the uploading of address proof, date of birth, and identity proof.
  • Once the documents are uploaded, you are required to add a declaration by entering your name and place along with the date.
  • Recheck the information and then click on 'submit'.
  • Once you click on 'submit' from the Document details page, the website will redirect you to a payment page where you will be required to make the payment.
  • Once the payment is made successfully, you will receive an acknowledgment number. This 15-digit number can be used to track your PAN card application pan-card/how-to-track-pan-card-delivery-status.
  • You will ideally receive your duplicate PAN card within 2 weeks from the date of application.

How to download duplicate PAN details using Aadhaar Card

  • Log on to the website of TIN-NSDL of the Income Tax Department of India.
  • Fill in the application with required details like PAN, Date of Birth, Aadhaar number, and GSTIN (optional)
  • Go through with the ‘ Terms and Conditions’ declaration.
  • Enter the Captcha code in the designated field.
  • Click on the ‘Submit’ button to proceed.
  • After that, the applicant will be redirected to you a new page wherein you can scroll down and select the option for receiving OTP on your registered contact details, email address, and mobile number.
  • Generate the OTP and enter the same in the designated field.
  • Click on the ‘Validate’ button to submit your request for the issuance of the duplicate Aadhaar card.

The offline procedure of applying for a duplicate PAN Card

  • Download or print the ‘Request for new PAN Card and/or changes or corrections in PAN data’ form.
  • Fill in the form.
  • Mention your 10-digit PAN number
  • Attach a passport size photograph of yours and cross-sign it carefully.
  • Send the filled form to the nearest NSDL center along with the other necessary documents such as proof of identity, proof of address, etc.
  • Make sure to make the payment. The NSDL after receiving your form will review the form and will provide you with a 15-digit reference number. .
  • You can also check the status of your PAN application using the 15-digit reference number. .
  • The PAN application will be sent to the Income-tax PAN services unit. If the information provided by you is accurate, then you will most likely receive your duplicate card within 14 days of your applying for a duplicate PAN Card. .
