Ways to get PAN Card details

PAN is a Permanent Account Number. It is a 10 digit alphanumeric allotted to the citizen of India by the Income Tax Department of India according to the Income Tax Act 1962. The technological advancement not only made applying the PAN Card procedure a simplified one but also make it easier to check PAN details through multiple avenues. Search PAN Details by PAN Number

Steps to follow

  • Log on to the website of Income Tax Department e-filing.
  • Click on the option “Register Yourself” & Enter your PAN Card number.
  • Fill in the registration form and submit it.
  • You will receive a link to your registered email address. Click on this link for account activation
  • Log on to the website of the Income Tax Department e-filing again and enter your account details
  • and click on “My Account”.
  • Go to Profile Settings and click on PAN Details
  • Your details will be generated. You will receive the name, jurisdiction, area code, address, and other relevant information.
Search of PAN Details by Name and Date of Birth

Steps to follow

  • Log on to the Income Tax E-filing website
  • After that, navigate on the section” Quick Links”
  • Click on ‘'Know Your PAN’'
  • Enter details like first name, middle name, surname, gender, date of birth, status, mobile number, etc.
  • You will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number as linked to your PAN Card.
  • Enter the OTP in provided space and click on” Validate”
  • Enter your father’s name
  • Click on ‘'Submit’'
  • Your PAN number will be generated.
Steps to update PAN Card details
  • Log on to the website of NSDL
  • Click on the option ‘PAN’ under the ‘Services’ tab.
  • Click on ‘Apply’ under ‘Change/Correction in PAN Data.
  • Fill in the details and click on ‘Submit.
  • You will be redirected to a new page where have to upload or submit the scanned images through e-Sign.
  • Next, provide all the personal details asked for like contact and address details.
  • Thereafter, upload accepted proof of age, residence, identity, and PAN as a supporting document.
  • Next, sign the declaration and click on ‘Submit.
  • Make the payment to update PAN Card details. The mode through which payment could be made are demand draft, net banking, or credit or debit card.
  • After successful payment, you will get the acknowledgment. You can take a printout of the same and send it to NSDL e-Gov after affixing two photographs on the space provided and cross-signing it.
  • All documents submitted also need to be attached with the acknowledgment before sending it.
  • The process of updating PAN Card details takes a period of 15 to 20 days. Within the period, the new PAN card is received by the applicant with all the necessary rectifications made.
