PAN Card is a necessary photo identity proof issued by the Income Tax Department of India under the supervision of the Central Board of Direct Taxes. Steps to get a PAN card in 48 hours are

• Log on to the NSDL website and choose the appropriate form from the options given.
• Thoroughly read the guidelines of applying for a PAN Card.
• Then choose the type of form with or without the Digital Signature Certificate and type of applicant from the drop-down menu and proceed to fill in the details requested.
• Once you have shared all the details and uploaded the relevant documents, submit the form.
• After submitting the form, you will get an acknowledgment that you should keep it with yourself for tracking PAN Card status.
• You will receive your PAN card within 48 hours through the registered post once the details submitted by you have been verified and processed.

How to check the PAN Card Status?

• Log on the website of NSDL.
• If you filed an application of reprint or replacement of PAN Card, enter your existing PAN Card number.
• If you have applied for a new PAN Card, enter the acknowledgment number.
• Once the acknowledgement number has been entered, enter the captcha code.
• Click on submit.
• The website will display the PAN Card status.
• Applicants will have to check the verification status within 5 days of receiving the acknowledgment.
